Bhote Koshi River is an adventurous destination for rafting and kayaking which is famous in Nepal and abroad. It is easily accessible and is 3 hour's drive from Kathmandu. The high rapids and splendid scenic view is the main attractions of the Bhote Koshi River that is an adrenaline-packed adventure for adventure enthusiasts that offers an unforgettable experience.

The Bhote Koshi River originates from the mountain of Tibet which is a short, steep mountain river that flows in narrow gorges into Nepal. The river has an inclination of around 15m per kilometer, which means that the rapids are continuous and intense. It means the Bhote Koshi river is a fast and challenging river to raft. The rapids are classified as Class III to V+, which means that they are suitable for experienced rafters and kayakers. The rapids have names like Gerbil in the Plumbing, Frog in a Blender, and Liquid Bliss, and they are sure to get your heart racing.

The Bhote Koshi River rafting can be combined with a Bungee jumping at the bridge of Bhote Koshi which is 160m high. Bungee Jumping can be experienced in the morning before starting rafting in the Bhote Koshi river.

Detail Itinerary

  • Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu

    Upon your arrival at Kathmandu airport, one of our representatives will greet you and assist you to reach the hotel. Few discussions about the entire travel plan during dinner. Overnight stay in hotel.

  • Day 02: Explore Kathmandu Valley

    On the second day, we explore the Kathmandu valley. Kathmandu Valley is famous for its culture and history which is located in the central part of Nepal and is surrounded by hills and mountains. Kathmandu valley comprises three main cities: Kathmandu, Lalitpur, and Bhaktapur, each with its own unique history and culture.

    Kathmandu valley is popular for its temple which is influenced by Newari culture, which is a blend of Hinduism and Buddhism. Altogether seven destinations are listed as World Heritage sites by UNESCO including the Pashupatinath Temple, the Swoyambhunath Stupa (also known as the Monkey Temple), the Bouddhanath Stupa, Changunarayan temple, and the Durbar Squares in Kathmandu, Lalitpur, and Bhaktapur. Among these sites, in a full-day sightseeing program, we are able to visit three to four places. We recommend visiting Bhaktapur Durbar Square, Bouddhanath, Pashupatinath, and Swoyambhunath. If you have additional days, Patan museum and Kumari Darsan in Kathmandu durbar square are major attractions for you.

    In the evening we stroll around Thamel. After the Valley tour, you will find a glimpse of Nepal's rich cultural heritage and historical background which regularly attracts travelers from around the world.


  • Day 03: Kathmandu to Bungee jump station at Bhote Koshi Bridge and Rafting after lunch from Baseri to Lamosanghu Dam.

    Drive from Kathmandu to Bhote Koshi Bungee station, early in the morning. It takes around 3 hours to reach there. Take some rest and have tea/coffee before ready to jump. Stay calm and cool. You will jump from a 160m bridge over the Bhote Koshi river.

    After bungee jumping, have lunch at the nearby restaurant. During lunch, there will be a short session regarding safety measures, and training on paddling techniques and commands. We start to raft from Baseri to Lamosanghu dam. This section is very challenging as it has class III to class V+ rapids. We stay at lodges or can stay in a camping tent on the river bank.

  • Day 04: Bhote Koshi River Rafting (Khadichaur to Sukute Beach)

    Early morning wake up and fix your gear at the campsite, and start rafting from Khadichaur to Sukute beach of Sukute village. Enjoy rafting till lunch. After lunch, we drive back to Kathmandu or can stay around Dhulikhel.

  • Day 05: Explore Kathmandu valley continue

    Today we visit Patan Durbar Square and Kathmandu Durbar square. In the afternoon, you have free time to relax and shopping around Thamel.

  • Day 06: Departure

    One of our office representatives assists you to reach the airport three hours before the scheduled flights.
