Trip Overview
The Ghalegaun cultural tour is a unique experience for travelers who like to explore the ethnic culture of the Gurung community. The Ghalegaun cultural tour comprises splendid views of a mountain range, and a rural homestay with local food, and hospitality. The village is located in Lamjung district which is approximately 205km northwest of Kathmandu at the height of 2016m. During your stay, you can observe and experience Gurung culture, music, and many more. The following day, we hike to Bhujung village, another Gurung village with similar culture and traditions. Bhujung is famous for its honey-hunting tour. If you wish, you can take part in honey-hunting activities.
The cultural tour starts in Kathmandu. We start exploring Kathmandu valley on the second day of the tour. The following day we drive from Kathmandu to Ghalegaun via Besisahar. We reach Ghalegaun by the evening. Even we can hike to Ghalegaun from Besisahar, but these days jeep drive is popular. The next day we hike to Bhujung village and had lunch and back to Ghalegaun. There are around 500 households in Bhujung. The next day, either we return to Kathmandu or travel to Pokhara city.
