Pikey Peak trekking is a short and easy trek available in the Everest region. Pikey Peak is located in the Sholukhumbu district. We can explore indigenous communities like Jirel in Jiri town and other ethnic groups like Tamang in the outskirt hills of Kathmandu, and Sherpa influenced by Tibetan culture residing in the entire Solukhumbu district. Several routes are available to trek Pikey Peak. In the 80s, Jiri was considered the gateway to Everest, which was changed after constructing the airstrip in Lukla. Even though, many trekkers still follow the same trekking route to go to Everest. Pikey peak trek starts driving from Kathmandu to Jiri and then up to Shivalay. And then we start to trek from Shivalay to Pikey Peak base camp then Junbesi village, Phaplu, and then drive to Kathmandu from Phaplu. Recently, we are following the trail from Dhap(2940m) of Okhaldhunga district and trekking to Jhapre, Pikey peak base camp, Junbesi, Phaplu, and driving to Kathmandu via Dhap. The trail follows pine and rhododendron forests with beautiful valleys. During this trek, you can visit several monasteries and gompa.
