Trip Overview
Dhaulagiri Himal(8167m) is another Himalayan range in western Nepal, which is 120 kilometers between the Kaligandaki river in the east and the Bheri river in the west. Dhaulagiri I is the seventh tallest mountain in the world. The Dhaulagiri mountain range includes Dhaulagiri I, II, III, IV, V, VI, VII, and other smaller peaks. Dhaulagiri base camp trekking is specially designed for adventure lovers who are always ready to challenge themselves and would like to get success. This trek is not for inexperienced beginners since Dhaulagiri base camp trekking is one of the toughest trekking in Nepal. While you cross the French pass (5360m), no doubt this will be your real physical test even though well preparation and proper acclimatization will make it easier to complete.
The significant highlights of the Dhaulagiri trek are that it showcases wonderful views of the entire Annapurna and Dhaulagiri mountain range, which covers green valleys and lush forests to alpine land without trees. These impressive hidden valleys are the same for centuries as they are detached from southern lowlands from deep gorges and snow-capped mountains on the Tibetan side.
Dhaulagiri Base Camp Trek begins when you arrive at Kathmandu airport. We transfer you to the planned hotel and the next day, we have an interactive session with the Team leader, Guide, and office staff to prepare for trekking and the formal process of getting permits for trekking. We drive from Kathmandu to Beni Bazar - the headquarters of Baglung district. From Beni, we start to trek to Babiyochaur, Dharapani, Muri, Boghara, Dobang, Italian Base camp, Glacier camp, Dhaulagiri base camp, French col, Hidden valley camp(5000m) via French pass(5350m), Yak Kharka, and Marpha village to complete trekking. Then after we drive to Pokhara or can fly from Jomsom to Pokhara. After a relaxing day spend in Pokhara, we drive back to Kathmandu with an unforgettable image of adventure in the lap of Dhaulagiri Mountain.
