Trip Overview

The mountain river Trisuli is best suited for white water rafting as it is easily accessible from Kathmandu city. One of the major tributaries of Saptagandaki, the Trisuli River joins the Narayani river in Devghat. The Trisuli River originates in Langtang Himal from Gosainkunda lake which is a holy lake for both Hindus and Buddhists.

Trisuli River flows from mid hills of Nepal till it reaches the Narayani river in the southern plane. Trisuli river has several hydro projects for electricity generation in Rasuwa and Nuwakot which makes it difficult to raft in these regions. The suitable area for rafting starts from Charaudi and ends at Devghat. Rafting at Trisuli offers you beautiful scenery, which includes stunning gorges, valleys, and forests, as well as the opportunity to experience Nepal's culture and hospitality. The river has rapids ranging from Class I to Class IV, making it suitable for both beginners and experienced rafters.

We drive from Kathmandu early morning to reach the starting point of rafting which is 82 Km west of Kathmandu city. It takes around a 2-3 hour drive from Kathmandu. There are different names given to the rapids based on their rapid class such as "Ladies Delight," "Upset," "Surprise," and "S-Bend." You can swim between the rapids, rafters have the opportunity to relax and take in the stunning natural scenery.

Trisuli river rafting is best suited in March, April, and May when the river is calm and steady. For more thrill and excitement, September to November is best suited as the river has sufficient water level and the weather is dry. Even in Monsoon Raft is possible but the water is muddy and high rapids which are too risky for rafting.

Trisuli River Rafting is a thrilling and exciting adventure activity that can be combined with the Kathmandu valley tour, Chitwan Jungle safari tour, or Pokhara tour that provides an unforgettable experience for all those who participate.
