Gokyo valley trekking is evergreen trekking in the Everest region. This trekking is difficult since the rough terrain, high elevation trekking trail always demands sound fitness and readiness for this trip. Before one or two months of your trekking, you can hike for 4 to 5 hours to become habitual for long day trekking in the wilderness of Everest region. Everest region trekking always attracts thousands of trekkers from all over the world. We must prepare ourselves cautiously before starting the trek from Kathmandu to Lukla. The initial checklist that you must understand and follow can be explained in the following topics:
Trekking and climbing demands sound physical level whether you would like to hike in hills or the mountain region. Trekking in high-altitude terrain always has several vulnerabilities even if we are physically and mentally sound. The proper guidelines and precautions lead us towards the successful completion of such difficult trekking.
Gokyo trekking is typically difficult trekking since the minimal altitude in Gokyo valley is 4700m. The altitude of Renjo-la pass and Gokyo-Ri are 5340m and 5360m respectively which is quite difficult for us to pass. Your fitness is a must to trek in the Gokyo valley which you can prepare before coming to Nepal. Even warm-up trekking can go in the Annapurna region such as the Ghorepani Poonhill trek, the Mardi Himal Base camp trek, and the Kori Khapuche lake trek.
Of course, anyone who can think of doing the solo trek in the Everest region has no issue. We can prepare essentials for trekking such as permits to trek, trekking gear, warm clothes, or compulsion. Whenever you think of going alone, you should handle everything by yourself which is sometimes troubling making the job. The culture, language, geography, and the wilderness of mountains that you may not know much about and are aware which can create a real problem. In such a context, you may need assistance which is very essential for your comfort and safety. That’s the only reason, we recommend taking a guide and porter during trekking. There is no issue with single trekkers from different countries regularly trekking alone in the wilder terrain of Everest and other trekking areas of Nepal. The main suggestion is due to the soaring height and tough trail in the trekking a region which is difficult because of geography, and unpredictable chilling weather.
Almost every agency like to operate trekking in a group. There are a few reasons behind it as it becomes easier to manage and operate. Within a group, people can assist and share the resources during trekking. The number of porters and guides can be allocated in the ratio of the guest. Not only that, the salary of porters and guides is divided into groups which helps to reduce the cost of trekking. At the same time, porters and guides get the job which is very important to run the family dependent to them in the hills of Nepal.
Everest region trekking is strenuous trekking since we start to trek from 2800m. Gokyo valley trekking demands a high level of fitness and determination. The rough terrain, high altitude, and chilling weather sometimes depressed you during trekking in Gokyo valley. Therefore we must prepare so cautiously and select a professional team to go trekking. It is an adventure but must need wise too.
Trekking in the Everest region is best suited in the spring season (March-April-May) and in the autumn season (September-October-November). During spring, days are long and sunny and the weather is warm but sometimes it is windy and stormy. The thick rhododendron forest creates surroundings colorful as rhododendron blooms in the entire forest. When you are walking through a glacier you must be more cautious since avalanche is common these days. Autumn is very beautiful with a variety of flowers and a great festive season. The weather is pleasant neither too cold nor too hot. Most of the expeditions occur in this season. The clear blue sky and fresh and mesmerizing mountains spellbind you throughout the trek

Dole is a small sherpa village in the Khumbu region of Nepal. It lies in the Dudh Kosi River valley just north of Khumjung and south of Machhermo at an altitude of 4200m. It’s a trying climb before we get to the top of the Mong La Pass, but the views make it worth it.
Dole is often a stopping point for trekkers on their way to Gokyo valley.
This trek is especially beautiful in spring when the rhododendrons are blooming. The trail passes many Kharkas, summer settlements used when Sherpas bring herds of yaks to graze in these high pastures. The route passes through the settlements of Tongba (3950m) and Gyele (3960m) to Dole where there are few lodges.
Today, we climb Gokyo lake. The beautiful valley with beautiful scenery. The magnificent view of Cho-Oyu (8201m) and other mountains can be captured. Beyond the ridge, the valley widens as the trail passes through Pangka at (4390m) then descends to the riverbank before beginning to climb onto the terminal moraine of the Ngozumpa Glacier. It’s a steep climb up the moraine, switch backing alongside the stream to the first small Lake at (4650m), where a family of green Brainy ducks resides.
Before crossing the Renjo-La pass, we test our fitness by climbing Gokyo Ri. We will wake up early and climb up to the Gokyo-RI for a panoramic view of the Mahalangur Himalayan range. From this point, Mount Everest is viewed splendidly with other mountains. It takes approximately 2 -3 hours to climb to the peak, providing a panoramic view of Cho - Oyu, the Gyachung Kang, Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, Cholatse, and the Tawache. It also provides a great view of the Ngozumpa glacier- the largest glacier in Nepal. Then descend to Gokyo valley.
The crossing of the Renjo-la Pass will be exciting and challenging as we descend into the remote northern Valley where access is restricted, and the landscape progressively resembles that of the Tibetan Valleys beyond the border. There is a chance we will meet Tibetan Traders descending from the Nangpa La pass that leads through the Himalayas from Tibet with their caravans of woolly yaks laden with goods. Overnight at guesthouse/lodge
After taking breakfast, we will trek down to Thame for more amazing snow peaks. We may meet Tibetan trader encampments along the way for pictures of a rare lifestyle. About 150 meters above Thame, there is a Thame Monastery, a picturesque monastery set among the many homes of monks and Lay people. It is perched on the side of a hill overlooking the valley. This is the site for the spring celebration of the Mani Rimdu festival, held about the middle of May each year. Overnight at guesthouse/lodge
We will continue our trek, following the flat and descending to the first resting place Thamo after heading towards Namche bazaar. The trek back is very beautiful. Overnight at guesthouse/lodge
A 30-minute flight back to Kathmandu from Lukla ends the trekking part of the journey. You can revel in the changing sights of the landscapes one last time while on the flight. After landing at Kathmandu airport, you will be transferred to the Hotel, freshen up, and relax in the daytime or you may explore Thamel. Evening joins Farewell dinner organized by us.
Everest region trekking is typically adventurous trekking. We start trekking from an elevation of 2800m which is normally the maximum height for many people who use to live at lower heights. The Gokyo valley Renjo-la pass trekking is another popular trek in the Everest region. The trekking trail takes us through difficult terrain as altitude increases. Following Namche Bazar, Thame, and Machhermo up to Gokyo Valley. Gokyo village and its surroundings give you a mesmerizing view of Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, and many peaks there. We trek up to Gokyo-Ri(5360m), the highest point for this trek. Even though it is hard trekking, the level of hardness is moderate. But also, we must take an appropriate approach during trekking. It is important to understand that you are going to walk for 5-7 hours daily on a rough trail, sometimes it is too steep, and has high passes. You must have a plan to adjust to the wilderness and at the same time, you must know how to overcome the trouble that you face during the trip. Due to these facts, altitude is a major concern since you are going to stay higher than 3000m for almost the completion of trekking which creates challenges since the level of oxygen is very low there. At the same time, breathing can be very crucial and add more difficulty. You must aware of Altitude sickness, and possible solutions that you can decide on instantly. Besides that, the glistering lakes, beautiful snowcapped mountains, sherpa village, rare wild animals, and wonderful vegetation will make you a more exciting and enjoyable journey. Therefore, the following considerable factor must consider cautiously during trekking and before planning:
